Sunshine Girls Road to Netball World Cup 2019, Liverpool, England

#Shoot For Gold

The Sunshine Girls, Jamaica’s national Netball Team, are Jamaica’s most outstanding sports team, having the enviable record of remaining among the top five in the world for over 35 years.  They have gained automatic qualification to every Netball World Cup since 1979 and have finished third in three of these competitions.

The Sunshine Girls are currently ranked third in the International Netball Federation’s ranking. They are automatic qualifiers for World Cup 2019, having placed fourth in the 2015 World Cup. The team has been preparing for the NWC 2019 Competition for four years.  However, their parent body, Netball Jamaica, has been struggling to find the requisite funding to get the team and support members of staff to the event.

The Sunshine Girls are currently doing well in all levels of the sport, having placed second in the Fast5 Netball World Series in 2017 and 2018.  Over the last two years, they have defeated England and New Zealand a number of times.  The team comprises three of the top 10 shooters in the world and includes eight professional netball players in clubs overseas; five in Australia and three in England.

They are high performing and worthy of a place in the World Cup. Help us to get them there.

KINGSTON, JAMAICA
