Bustamante Hospital for Children Solarization Project

Now in its third year, the Guardsman Games has evolved from an expo event into Jamaica’s first official Obstacle Course Race (OCR). One of the races, the Guardsman Challenge, is a Jamaican qualifier race for the OCR World Championships and the North American Obstacle Course Race Championships.

The Guardsman Games provides a unique and fun experience that promotes family, healthy lifestyle and bringing communities together. The Bustamante Hospital for Children is one of the charities that has benefitted from the proceeds of the Games. Last year, The Guardsman Games was able to make a special donation to the Bustamante Children’s Hospital to purchase a solar energy system that will power the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. The solar energy system is a pilot project which will be facilitated by Future Energy Group and will convert into $28 million in savings for the hospital over the next 20 years.

How will the funds be used?

To install solar panels at Bustamante Hospital for Children.
